The production, processing and trading in agricultural products and protein animal feed developed within the Trading Department which used to operate as part of Agrokor d.d..
As the volume of business and traded goods increased, in December 1996 Agrokor trgovina d.d. was spinned off as an individual entity within the Agrokor Group.

Since the very beginning Agrokor trgovina operations comprised the production and distribution of flowers (as Agrokor's original activity), production, processing and trade in agricultural products and protein animal feed, trading in crude and refined oils, trading and production of meat and livestock and in recent years, the very significant trade in production materials for investments in agricultural production (fertilizers, seeds and protection chemicals).

With a view to achieving as efficient and productive as possible operations in the years to come, Agrokor trgovina has transformed to become a trading company developing and adjusting its operations to the situation on the global and domestic market in order to become market leader in commodity trading.

In the second quarter of 2007 Konzum's Strategic Customer Wholesale Division was amalgamated to Agrokor trgovina.
